How long does the promotional offer last? Will my organization be stuck paying the standard rate after a few months?
We promise you—this promotional offer is not a trick. If your nonprofit signs up for the platform on or before December 14, you’ll lock in the promotional $99/month price forever. That price won’t ever expire or rise to the standard rate of $249/month, and you won’t be charged any hidden fees to get your website up and running.
I can build a new site for $5,000 upfront. Why wouldn’t I do that instead?
We totally understand our platform isn’t right for everyone. But we used to build sites with larger upfront costs, and we moved to this pricing model for a few reasons.
- Monthly pricing is more accessible to a wider range of organizations.
- It makes it easier to budget for the long run.
- It allows us to keep the site updated so you don’t have to rebuild as quickly.
- It gives you access to new features as they come up.
- It allows us to include all ongoing fees (like hosting, updates and support) in a simple pricing structure.
- And it allows us to serve as an ongoing partner to answer questions and provide advice to our clients long into the future to make sure they get results from the site they build.
Are there any additional fees outside of the $99/month?
The only other fees that most nonprofits will face are from third-party tools (such as a donor management system or email provider) plus the fees to process payments. But you won’t pay any of that to us. Plus we can make recommendations on how to get the most for your money (and in some cases, get access to free tools with nonprofit pricing).
Do you take a percentage of my donations or payments made through the site?
Nope. You’ll pay a processing fee to the payment processor, but we don’t take a cut or mark that fee up as some other providers do. In our minds, that money is intended to fuel your cause, not fund your website.
How are you able to provide all of this without an extra fee to build the site?
To be honest, we lose money for a while on a new project. But we’re okay with that. As long as we make sure you love working with us, we believe you’ll stick around long enough for it to all balance out down the road.
Who owns the website?
This is actually a fairly involved question, but basically we all own pieces of the site. We use WordPress to power the website, and since it’s an open-source piece of software, we can’t legally grant ownership to anyone. You maintain ownership of your logos, content, domain name and any assets you bring to the project. We own the themes we use as a starting point for each new website project. What happens if I want to leave the platform?
We’ll be sad, but we’ll help you have a smooth transition off the platform. You’re free to take your content and form entries (such as donations and event registrations) with you when you leave. For more, you can check out our Terms of Service.
Can I transfer my site to a new hosting provider?
Our themes are built in a way that requires us to host them. We do this to make it easier for us to push frequent updates to a large number of sites. This allows us to ensure we’re providing value to the nonprofits on our platform on an ongoing basis.
How will I pay for the Wired Impact platform?
Almost all of our clients pay by credit card when they sign up. This card is automatically charged each month moving forward. If you’d like to discuss payments, just let us know.
