We’re excited to show you all the new Special Olympics New Jersey website!
Special Olympics New Jersey provides free sports training and athletic competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities. We used WordPress Multisite to create an online hub for their many athletic programs, services and events. Through their mission, they create an inclusive community that transforms the lives of athletes, families and partners through the joy of sport.
We partnered with Special Olympics New Jersey to design and build a responsive website with an active and bold design that works toward their goals, promoting program participation and event attendance.
Using WordPress Multisite, an easy-to-manage way to build a network of related subsites, we created a consistent look and feel for Special Olympics New Jersey event microsites— folding them all into one site for organization and easy management. Their Snow Bowl event, Polar Plunge Wildwood and Statue of Liberty 5K use the microsite template to create a branded, yet customizable experience for visitors across the board.
To make finding nearby sports programs as easy as possible, we created an interactive map of New Jersey that links out to individual program area pages that highlight local offerings. Specially designed calls to action on each local county page allow visitors to complete important actions like contacting the local director or attending an upcoming event in their area.
Special Olympics New Jersey has no shortage of powerful and heartwarming stories from their community. To showcase those stories, we created a page within the Impact section to pull in community stories from the blog.
To make registration for their sports programs easier, we created a customizable checklist that can be added to any sports page, allowing potential participants to check their eligibility and start the registration process.
Visit the Special Olympics New Jersey website to learn more about their sports programs and hear inspiring stories of strength, resilience, friendship and community.
