Role at Wired Impact

Nickie is a client success manager at Wired Impact where she spends her days working alongside nonprofits to help them help others better. You can find her talking with clients, poring over project details and working with the rest of the Wired Impact team to solve the challenges of nonprofit marketing and websites.

Nickie loves getting to know clients, feeling their enthusiasm for the work they do and seeing the difference they’re making in their communities. The chance to help others do more good by doing the things she loves makes her heart full.

Why She Loves This Work

Nickie thinks Leslie Knope said it best in the Parks and Rec finale when she said, “The best prize life has to offer is a chance to work hard at work worth doing.” And supporting organizations that are making a difference in their communities is exactly that kind of work.

She loves the chance she has to learn more about the world through the people who are working to do good in it. Nickie also enjoys thinking through creative ways organizations can use their websites to reach their goals and guiding them through the process of making it all happen.

Her Path to Nonprofit Web Work

Nickie discovered her passion for nonprofits as a student at Stephens College, where she graduated with a major in marketing and a minor in women’s studies. Learning more about the work of people who’ve changed history—and the work still to do—inspired her to get involved.

She began volunteering for organizations that work to prevent intimate partner violence and to provide family planning services. She continued her work with nonprofits at a company that coaches nonprofit leaders and helps them strengthen their organizations.

Before joining Wired Impact, Nickie worked as an editor and strategist at a content marketing agency. She’s over the moon about this special opportunity to bring her marketing background together with her passion for helping people make the world a better place.

Outside of Work

When Nickie isn’t working, you can usually find her reading books of essays, journaling, rewatching her favorite TV shows or waiting for the perfect overcast day to enjoy a very low-intensity hike at a state park. She’s also an ardent supporter of organizations that make healthcare services and education easier to access, votes easier to cast and animals easier to adopt into loving homes.
